Disrupt. "Decolonize Your To-Do List."

Our Radical Self-Empowerment (‘RSE’) Class is well underway; we are exploring the contours of our liberation and the practices and ideas that support them. This week activist and spiritualist, Zim Gagne, of Conjuring Queendom, joined us to discuss decolonization of practice, internal oppression, tokenism, and innovation versus assimilation, as it relates to legal and other forms of advocacy. Thank you, Zim, for your words of wisdom, sharing the quote above, and reminding us to radically identify and establish our needs as a priority. We look forward to welcoming you back! Later in the Fall, yoga and expert somatic practitioners! Blessings.

Announcing Radical Self-Empowerment: An Exploration of Law at the Intersection of Social Justice and Well-Being

LEVITATE founder Jenipher Jones Bonino will be teaching a seminar course entitled Radical Self-Empowerment at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. This seminar is in partnership with The LEVITATE. Institute, the thought and advocacy component of Levitate, a lifestyle and wellness center. Designed for law and other graduate students, the course will explore law at the intersection of social justice and well-being. Poet Audre Lorde, infamously declared, “the master’s tools will never dismantle the master’s house.” From an intersectional lens, the course incorporates contemplative/meditative as a practice of liberation; explores centering the margins, trauma, theory, know your rights, yoga, and more. The objective of the course is to equip and encourage all participants with radical tools, both new and old, to dismantle harmful systems and structures. And with these new tools, to create a renewed cultural narrative. For more information please contact: contact@levitateisnow.com.
